Size: Medium. Queen ~10mm, workers ~8mm
Diet: Feed sugars until workers arrive, then a variety of protein, sugars and seeds
Set-up: Test tube up until 15-30 workers. Then move to small nest and out world.
These stunning ants are closely related to the popular Polyrhachis Ammon. They look similar with a lovely shiny gold gastor but feature a black body and are very hairy. They are generally arboreal, quite shy and nocturnal and make a very nice placid colony to raise.
